TryClimbing is run by Steve Puttick. For nearly a decade it advertised my services as a climbing instructor. During this time I introduced hundreds of people to the amazing world of rock climbing. This site is now dedicated to providing free advice and rock climbing tips for beginners.
Because this site is for beginners, I’ve cleared away the climbing jargon that normally gets in the way. Climbing has its own distinctive subcultures, tribes and cliques. Here you’ll find some ideas about how these can be negotiated / embraced / ignored. It is a fantastic sport (or way of life) with a huge amount to offer everyone. I believe that rock climbing has the potential to be accessible to everyone. Hopefully, whoever you are, you will find a way into it through this site.
