Rock Climbing Venues in the UK

This advice section contains a wealth of information about rock climbing for beginners.  You will learn how to rock climb.  Of course, while it is aimed at beginners, really this just means we are trying to nail the basics: making sure the essential things are done as well as they can be.  So even if you have been climbing for a while, you still might find some of it useful, either as refreshers or to make sure you are keeping up to date with best practice.  After all, climbing equipment and techniques have changed considerably:  It is no longer onsidered ‘OK’ to tie a hawserlain rope around your waist and head out (sorry)!

Obviously I would advise you getting professional instruction outside in the real world before trying any of this stuff. That said, I hope the following articles are useful and help you ‘learn the ropes’ (haha) and stay safe.  This ‘advice’ section is also useful to refer to after you’ve been outside, to reinforce the new ideas you have learnt.  Reviews, new sections and so on also appear on the blog section; grab the RSS feed to keep updated with these.   Feel free to use the ‘comments’ boxes to ask questions, clarify points or ask for other areas to be covered.  All suggestions welcome!
